Book cover redesign
“Ordinary people” by judith guest
Project SummarY
About
For this project, I designed a new book cover for "Ordinary People" by Judith Guest. My goal was to capture the essence of the book's themes—family dynamics and emotional struggles—through my design. I chose colors and images that reflect the mood and tone of the story, creating a cover that is both appealing and meaningful. This design aims to draw readers in while giving a hint of the book's emotional depth.
Design Process
First, I researched the history and details of the book "Ordinary People" and looked at other popular book covers. This helped me understand what makes a book cover stand out and attract readers. I used this information to guide my design choices.
Next, I created many different sketches that brought the themes of "Ordinary People" to life. These sketches incorporated elements from the book and my research, helping me explore various visual representations of the book's emotional depth.
Finally, I used Adobe InDesign to create three of my top design ideas. After reviewing and critiquing these designs, I selected my favorite one. This final design effectively captured the essence of the book and its appeal to readers.
